Welcome to Mumken Travel & Tourism! We are delighted to offer you a wide range of travel and tourism services in Uganda and beyond. These Terms & Conditions outline the agreement between Mumken Travel & Tourism (hereinafter referred to as “we”, “us”, or “our”) and you (hereinafter referred to as “you”, “your”, or “the customer”)Please carefully review these Terms and Conditions before booking any services with us. By using our services, you agree to be bound by these terms.
1. Booking and Payment:
- All bookings must be made through our website, email, or in person at our office.
- A deposit of 30% is required to confirm your booking. The remaining balance or full payment must be paid 45 days before your departure date.
- You must provide accurate and complete information when making a booking.
- We accept payment via credit card, debit card, and bank transfer.
- All bookings are subject to availability and confirmation. We will confirm the final price at the time of booking.
- Any quote offered to you is valid for 7 days from that date, after which we may have to vary the price due to cost changes.
2. Cancellations and Amendments:
Cancellations or amendments to your booking must be made in writing via email.
Cancellation by You: You may cancel your booking at any time before the start of your trip. However, cancellation fees will apply as follows:
- More than 90 days prior to departure: No charge: full refund.
- 45 to 90 days prior to departure: 30% of booking cost.
- Less than 45 days prior to departure: 100% of booking cost.
- No show: 100% of booking cost.
Cancellation by Us: We reserves the right to cancel any booking due to unforeseen circumstances, such as natural disasters, political unrest, or changes in service provider availability. In such cases, we will offer you a full refund or a rebooking alternative travel arrangements if possible.
Refunds: Refunds will be processed within 7-10 business days after your cancellation request is received, depending on the payment method used.
Amendments: Changes to your booking may be possible, subject to availability and additional fees. Please contact us as soon as possible if you need to amend your booking.
Note: Some camps have high cancellation charges over peak booking periods, such as December to February or May to July. That may affect the above cancellation charges, making them higher than normal. If higher-than-normal cancellation charges affect your booking, we will inform you in writing at the quote stage and before you pay your deposit. Once your deposit is paid and we have issued you a Confirmation Invoice, you are liable for these increased cancellation charges.
If you paid upfront for gorilla permits or domestic flights at the deposit stage, these are non-refundable. So, the cost of these will be retained by us on top of the cancellation charges indicated above.
3. Inclusions and Exclusions:
- Each tour itinerary clearly outlines what is included in the tour cost. This typically includes transportation, accommodation, meals as specified, guided activities, and entrance fees to national parks and other attractions.
- Expenses not explicitly included in the itinerary are your responsibility, such as:
- International flights (unless booked through Mumken travel and tourism).
- Travel insurance (highly recommended).
- Personal expenses (souvenirs, gratuities, etc.).
- Visa fees and other government charges.
- Meals and drinks (not specified in your itinerary).
4. Responsibilities and Limitations
- Mumken Travel & Tourism acts as a tour operator and does not directly own or control any of the suppliers involved in your trip (e.g., airlines, hotels).
- We strive to provide accurate information and descriptions of our tours. However, we cannot guarantee complete accuracy due to factors beyond our control, or be held responsible for any changes or disruptions beyond our control (e.g., flight cancellations, weather events, political unrest, or acts of God).
- It is your responsibility to ensure you have all necessary travel documents and visas for your chosen destination. We recommend checking with the relevant embassy or consulate well in advance of your travel and complying with all immigration and visa requirements.
- It is your responsibility to behave responsibly and respectfully throughout your trip, complying with local laws and customs
- We are committed to providing safe and enjoyable travel experiences. However, we cannot be held liable for any personal injury, illness, loss, damage, or inconvenience arising from your participation in our tours, unless directly caused by our negligence.
- In the event of any issue with your tour, please contact your guide or our office immediately so we can assist you in finding a resolution.
5. Travel Insurance
- We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance to protect yourself against unexpected events, such as trip cancellation, medical emergencies, or lost luggage.
- Mumken does not sell travel insurance, but we can provide information and recommendations on obtaining it.
- Your safety is of utmost importance to us and we recommend taking necessary precautions for a secure and enjoyable travel experience.
- We are not responsible for any losses or damages you incur due to the lack of travel insurance.
6. Health and Safety:
Mumken Travel and Tourism is committed to your safety and adhere to industry safety standards. However, you acknowledge that inherent risks of injury are associated with travel, and you participate in activities at your own risk.
7. Dispute Resolution:
Any disputes arising from these terms and conditions shall be settled amicably through negotiation. If a solution cannot be reached, the dispute shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the Ugandan courts.
8. Acceptance of Terms:
By booking a tour with Mumken Travel & Tourism, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these terms and conditions.
9. Changes to Terms & Conditions:
Mumken Travel & Tourism reserves the right to change these Terms & Conditions at any time. We will notify you of any changes by email or by posting them on our website.
